News of the 2011 KTM models is just now being released. As most people now know, the big news is the motocross line up that will feature new frames with linkage rear suspension. Although the two stroke 250sx will still have the PDS system. The other big news is the all new 350sxf that will be fuel injected, alongside the 250sxf. Enjoy the pictures and we hope to have updates on the enduro models soon.
Update 5/24 – We are still working to find out the specs of the off road XC models. One thing that is for sure is that all 250/300 two strokes will now have six speed transmissions. It looks like the 250sx two stroke will get the new generation frame, but retain the PDS no link shock. It also appears that the 250/300xc two strokes will also have the new frame, while the xcw models retain the previous generation frames. This will really create a distinction in the two stroke line up. Whether there will be a difference in the six speed trannies for the two stroke remains to be seen.
Update 5/26 – There will be two different six speed transmissions for the two stroke line, although not all of the gears will be different. The sixth gear for the 250/300 xc’s will be roughly the same ratio as the current xcw 5th.
The new generation frame has a little “tail” that serves as the top shock mount. It curves slightly upward and is braced by the two side pieces seen in the photos. This allows that section to flex slightly, independent from the rest of the frame. It is intended to give a smoother ride quality.
