It seems like this summer is just flying by. That may be in part to the fact that I have been on the road so much. I just got back from spending a week in Baja working on the Baja Beach Bash. If you have already looked at the stuff here at Enduro360, there is some entertaining reading on Thumpertalk.com also.
The bash was a great time, got to hang out with the JCR Honda crew, Johnny, Kendall, Colton and Eric the mechanic. Cameron Steele and Tim Morton do the real work of putting that event together. It is good entertainment, although you probably actually get a better overall Baja experience just by going on a regular Baja Bound tour, more riding and visit more places.
Speaking of Cameron, he is announcing at Endurocross in Vegas this weekend. We are going to head over first thing in the morning. I have not been to Endurocross for a couple of years. The last time I went I tried to race, that was so crazy, I went over the bars twice. Needless to say I have decided it is way better to watch than ride. I am going to try to get all kinds of pics and interviews for the site here. I may try to do some real time posting of results and action also.
So the much rumored Husaberg 2 stroke turned out to be sort of a flop. It is just a rebadged 250/300 KTM xcw, but with the closed cartridge fork. I guess we should have figured as much, it kind of makes sense because it gives euro Husaberg dealers a two stroke line to sell. It won’t be coming to the US.
GasGas and Beta showed pics of the 2011 models this week. Of course we are still waiting to actually see and ride the 2010 models of these bikes, well so much for that. But what are you going to do, wait another 6 months for the new bikes to arrive or go ahead and test the now “old” 2010 bikes?
I have some new stuff that will post on Motorcycle USA next week, riding BMW f800GS and KTM 690R, so watch out for that. I am hoping for a big Japanese dual sporter to test next and maybe make a project bike out of. Btw, there will be an Adventure model of the 690R sometime in the not too distant future, my dream ADV bike.
I got to ride a 2011 300xcw yesterday. I only rode it on the track, where it should be out of its element, but I had a blast. It took a little to get back in the mode of riding the 2t, but once back in the groove it was great. I just wish I lived where I could get more benefit of riding a two stroke, the ultimate Idaho bike.

So that is about all the news for today. Look for some posting on Endurocross from Vegas tomorrow.
