The 2010 Big Sky XC cross country race is coming up shortly. This year’s Montana race will be on August 21-22 at Big Sky Ski Resort. It will also be part of the AMA Western Hare Scrambles Championship Series. additionally there will be a Dirt Wise school presented by Shane Watts prior to the event, so if you are anywhere near the area, it is worth checking out.
The inaugural 2009 event was pretty impressive for a first time effort. The location is terrific and the race itself proved to be quite a challenge. With a starting elevation of 7,500 feet, it was a real test of racers and their machines. Here are a couple of peeks at what to expect. In the first clip you can see me just going past the helmet cam rider at the end of the start (r/w/b/ jersey)
In this second clip you can see me clearing the rock field. It doesn’t look like too much here, but the entire AA line was stuck on it on the opening lap.
