I had the great opportunity to go adventure riding through the back roads of Idaho a couple of months back while working on some stories and testing for MotorcycleUSA. How great is it when you have a couple of brand new bikes, a flexible itinerary and someone elses expense account to work with. Just put the helmets and go. The riding through Idaho is fantastic and we really only covered the tip of the iceberg so to speak. The bikes were a blast, each with its own personality and strong points.
After the trip was finished, I got the task of writing up the bike comparison story. That posted here last month. My co-rider JC Hilderbrand, the off road editor for MotoUSA, wrote up the travel side of the story. It is now posted over at MotorcycleUSA.com, so hit the link and check it out.
If you missed the feature on the KTM 690R and the BMW f800GS, you can see the 2010 Mid Size Aventure Bike Comparison. If you would like to see more of the Idaho backcountry you might check out the Riggins Adventure Rally September 10th, you can see more on the link below.
