For those of you who may not have been paying attention, things at Husqvarna North America have been in some turmoil lately. First came the departure of Scott Harden, followed by that of head man Mark Brady. Next comes news of the production delay of the hybrid TE/C449 models. These are the new bikes that will use the BMW/Kymco motors from the much maligned and now discontinued BMW G450x.
It appears that these new hybrid models must have received less than stellar reviews at the worldwide press introduction in Italy a few months ago. Production has been set back until at least November as the factory tries to address some of the issues. Ty Davis currently has one of only two of the 449 models in the US. He is currently putting it through the rigors of testing on the west coast.
It also now looks like Husky will welcome Revelle Harrison on board to take over the top sales position in the US. Revelle has long been a key figure at KTM North America. I think it came as a shock to most everyone that he is jumping to Husky. But this is just another sign of the tough times in industry. He will join former KTM alum Jeff Konike on the sales team.
