Garrahan Grabs Win District 36 Oasis Hare Scrambles
Brian Garrahan get D36 Hare Scrambles Win
Northern California national champion Brian Garrahan secured 1st place at the District 36 Oasis Hare Scrambles in Clear lake Oaks this past weekend. As a 35-year old pro racer, he’s almost twice the age of the other competitors making the win even sweeter. “It was good to get my first win of the season. It was a hard-earned race which made it a lot of fun,” said Brian. “The kids I was racing against really stepped it up this year.” It was an exceptionally warm for mid-February and the track was dusty. A shorter overall race made for shorter lap times and the racers ran on the motocross track a lot of the time. Having many racers competing made it a strong event.

It’s worth noting that 15 students from Brian’s coaching school, Garrahan Off-Road Training (GOT), were top finishers in their events. For example, in the B65 Class, the top five racers were coached by Brian. In the C85 Class, ages 7-11, four out of the top five were GOT students. “I’m really proud of all the GOT
racers. It really shows that hard work and dedication pay off,” stated Brian.
For the past 10 years, Brian Garrahan has been competing at the highest level of off-road racing. In 2008 he achieved the goal of winning a championship by taking first in the West Coast Hare Scramble. In 2010, he recaptured the title and is motivated to defend it in 2011.
In addition to professional racing, Brian teaches off-road racing to kids, adults, and other racers through his new venture, Garrahan Off-Road Training (GOT).
Brian’s sponsors include, but are not limited to, Yamaha, FMF, Dunlop Tires, WR1 Suspension, Craiger Motorsports, and Bucci Sunglasses.
