The 2011 AMA Enduro Season kicked of finally. Lots of new faces and bikes again. But in the end it looked like a good day for the old dogs of the series. Bobbitt looks in fine form to start off the year and once again shows that 2 strokes are still competitive. Good day for Bakken and Lafferty gets on the podium. Nice to see Wattsy out again with a 13th place finish. Mullins looks a little off the pace, rumor is that he switched from the KTM 350 to the 450 in the last couple of weeks.

In WORCS racing action Bobby Garrison pretty much smoked everyone. A buddy asked me today where this guy came from. Sadly the short answer is that he came from Husky… back to racing a competitive bike! I don’t expect Caselli to have an easy go at it this year. Taylor Robert is maturing nicely and if he stays healthy he will be a factor all season also. It is a deep field in the series this year with lots of young guns looking to make a name for themselves. The new scoring is from races on both Saturday and Sunday, here are the combined finishes.

Locally we went out for the District 37 Checkers Hare and Hound. It was a cold morning in the dez. I rode the KTM 350xcf again. After a poor jump off the line I pulled way right to find a good line and make it to the end of the bomb inside the top ten. I filed in right behind Tyler Smith and we rode together most of the day. My hands and arms pumped up a little in the first loop, mostly due to the cold. The first half was mostly fast and I never really got a good rhythum going. In the second loop I felt a little better in the technical stuff. I lost some positions in the early stages but got them back late in the day so I went on to finish 10th overall and first in the Vet class.
