Pic of the Day – Wyoming National Enduro
Ok, when you are getting your gear together for race day and you wonder “should I carry my phone with me today”? Here is the perfect reason to answer yes to that question-
This was coming out of a test at the AMA National Enduro this past weekend. I got to go up to test some new orange bikes (look for full report next week). I came around a corner to encounter this situation. But this was just not any plain mud hole, it was a geothermal muddy hole thingy. That is to say it is sort of bottomless. It was also right in the middle of the two track road. It was well marked, but as it was sort of at the top of a rise, it didn’t seem like much of an issue until it was way too late. I happened along as the guy was digging himself out, the bike would be another story. It took Patrick Koether (Rekluse) and myself a huge amount of pulling to get this bike out. But we did finally get it unstuck. Apparently there was at least one other bike that went in even deeper, with only the rear tire still above the mud.
