As expected, the Training Wheels M/C enduro at Red Mountain was another success. It is just another of the great events that have marked the 2011 District 37 Enduro Series. Just wait to see what is in store for next season!
I was able to get the 2012 KTM 450XC-w ready in time to race the event. A little dialing in on the suspension and everything was feeling good. So I had high hopes for a strong result from the event.
My day went really well. I must have snared a four-leaf clover somewhere, because I ended up with two “59’s” on the day. In enduro speak, that means I was one second from losing another minute, saved by that one second before the clocked ticked over another minute. On the down side, I left the gas available late and dropped one minute on the start of the last loop. But overall I rode pretty well. My final score for the day was a 6. Quinn Cody had a 3 and I am sure there were a couple of riders in between us. Still it should give me a decent result for the event. Stay tuned for official results.
So here is some video footage from the last loop. It is a little long, but it gives a good feel for what a technical desert enduro is like. Sorry for some of the sound, my new GoPro 960 is doing really poor on quality. As always, thanks for reading and giving your feedback. Enjoy-
