Husqvarna Adventure Bike Concepts

If you build it they will come!
Give the people what they want. It isn’t rocket science and it doesn’t matter what manufacturer does it. Someone has to get on top of this. The market is screaming for it. Even Malcolm Smith recently commented to me ” I just want a great 300lb adventure bike”.
While the market languishes, the factories keep churning out concepts of bikes that no one asked for. Give the people what they want, not what you think you need to talked into.

Interesting concepts.
Let’s see, give me the TE650 with almost all the weight of a BIG adventure bike but with less power or give me a TE449 with just a little less weight and a lot less power. Tough to choose….Or I could just buy a traditional dual sport which is just a barely legal dirt bike.
Like I said interesting…
Not sure how many people “want” a 400 pound 650 single and I like ,my 511 just the way it is, that’s why I bought it. If i was looking for a adventure bike that weighed 400 plus pounds and carried 6 plus gallons there are several to choose from and they are not selling all that well. Husky is doing fine, 250-300 x-lights rule, 449/511 is a great all around bike (freaking LOVE mine) and the upcoming 450 x-light and new 2 strokes will fill out the bill for husky. These barges are cool but BMW and other already offers similar dirt barges. IMHO
I like the 449 concept. With Husky coming out with a new x-light 450 in the next year or so, what’s going to happen to the TE449 I just bought? My friends an I do more adventure riding than hardcore trail and the only limitation with the existing 2011 TE449 is fuel capacity and gearing. I think if Husky produced an adventure bike like the ones above and priced them right they would sell well to older guys like us.
I agree, interesting concept.
It’s better than another Japanese sport bike! There is NOT one do-it-all motorcycle. That’s why models like this are cool, just another for the collection. Which bike will I ride today . . . . . ?
what a pig= not a good concept 1990s called and wants these pos’s back Horrible archaic design
might as well get harleys input
how about light weight 2 stroke in innovative package?
Ossa
I own a KTM 990 adventure I use for the big long trips and a DRZ400s that has a big tank, saddle bags etc. for doing the more off road rally type rides. The KTM can be a pig in the slow speed nasty stuff but it’s as good as it gets for a mix of the two conditions. However, I have more fun riding at a good pace off road on the little Suzuki. I’m really watching at what Husky/BMW will come up with now that they parked the TE630. These bikes look great. Adventure riding rocks ! I like what I see here.
Finally some sanity this topic. I vote Dean, Kelly, and OG for President!
I think an XR650R with the 1X engine is absolutely the limit on size and weight and minimum on power.
I’ve ridden the “dirt barges” of friend (KTM 990, BMW 707) and I’m wondering why not just drive a Camaro out there?
Give the people what they want…………bring back the TE610.
I am with Malcom Smith on the threshold of 300lbs. for a Adventure bike . I am currently building a XR650R into a close fit to this limit. A little bit Africa Twin, and more like the NX650, small fairing and windsheild ,dual h.i.d. headlights, and good balance of fuel carrying capabilities . Oh and don’t forget a revised and comfortable seat for long days in the saddle.
ktm 690 with rally raid adventure kit? ge the big fairing adn light of the big ktm adventure, the wind blocking, fuel capacity, light weight at 330lbs? I think? plenty of oomph. Bam. Does that fit the bill?
KTM690 with a Rally would be a perfect bike or a refreshed, new TE630 Rally setup in my opinion. The 950SE works pretty damn good at 400 lbs too.. There is not a do it all bike but the 690 I used to own did all it pretty well..
AT least they are listening to what we want. Why are the Japensese companies not getting it?
