Chile submits to a Cervantes who already leads the world in E2
Ivan was the most consistent with two second places. McCanney, second in the Junior.
The first race of the Enduro World Championship (EWC) allowed this weekend in Chile enjoy a great debut Gas team, leaving the proof of Talca with Ivan Cervantes lead the general classification of the Enduro 2 and Danny McCanney occupying second place in Junior Enduro.
Cervantes was the pilot more regular and constant in the intermediate category over the two days of racing, fighting for victory in the opening round with Juha Salminen and in the second, ‘Peel’ Renet. It was precisely the authority demonstrated by Ivan in the Enduro Test, the more complicated and particularly long career-which was about to lose the win Salminen the first day and it caused more errors among their opponents all weekend week.
Very encouraging was also the debut of Danny McCanney in EJ, which had an intense fight with Mathias Bellino on both days. On a ground very complicated and not conducive to his riding, the first day and finished second on Sunday had to settle for third step of the podium. At E3 Jordi Figueras struggled on Saturday to enter the top ten, finally ending 11 th, the second day he had a little more and ended in the thirteenth place.
Another highlight of the Chilean test was the debut of the bike that will run short with Ivan Cervantes this season, the new EC 450 F, whose aesthetic also serve to identify the next occurrence of the Replica Cervantes 2012.
“I am very happy with how things went. I was very excited that this moment and to make his debut with the new bike in the world, and the results have been fantastic. I did not win podium, but I leave here as leader of E2, which is the most important one to strive to be world champion. Consistency is vital in a category as contested as this and this weekend has been very clear. The race that we have found in Chile was very complicated, difficult and long special, plus a lot of dust and stones, so they have achieved two second places is really good. Worst of all was the lot of heat we have had. This has made it even harder. I hope to continue this good line next week and get even victory. “
