Look for pictures and story from Chilly a little bit later.
Jonny Walker was first on the Day but Jarvis takes the overall.
From Chilly – Hey everyone, I rode the hobby course again today. Not nearly as hard but it was longer and the temps were hotter. I had a good day, just cruised around and took pics. I was getting good and tired by the end of the day. Without that extra adrenaline rush of actually racing, it was starting to wear on just a bit.
I have to admit that I kind of chickened out and did not attempt the last hill climb. I didn’t have much desire to become part of somebody’s highlight reel. But I was impressed with the effort some of the tired hobby riders put in while attempting the big hill. I heard that about 12 riders made it to the top and one of them was a hobby class rider.
Another fine day on the course. Today’s route looked like a national enduro. We did a long creek bed ravine that looks just like the one they are probably running today in Wyoming at the national.
I am pretty tired, have been on the go all week, between riding and having to be out on the course by 6 am every day to catch the first riders out for the Romaniacs blog. I have been riding the course without any real preparation, just hop on the bike and take off. I just catch a drink and bite to eat where I can.
I have to be up at 4:30 for my flight, so I will do a bigger wrap up later. Just let me say that this place is awesome, well worth the trip in every way. Apart from the race, the people, country, scenery, everything is cool. I will want to come back. I guess any place that is beautiful AND you can ride your dirt bike down the street, is tops with me.
