Mike Brown got the holeshot with Taddy in tow. It only took a couple of minutes before they were into lappers, Taddy got around passing a lapper. The two stayed close, but Taddy had control clear to the finish.
Cody Webb stayed close even catching Brownie towards the end, but never challenged for the lead
Haaker and Robert both showed speed but had bobbles to keep them back
I think we can now officially say that EX has become not much more than Arenacross. They really phoned it in on this course, it was not very hard and came down to who could do the biggest jumps. Brownie could jump clear over half the course, never even touching many of the obstacles.
This included jumping the entire water feature. Taddy cased it in his qualifier, coming up short and hitting incredibly hard, but he saved it. Both riders chose not to do it in the main as it was not significantly faster than the “jump in, jump out” line.
Zip-Ty racing showed up with Jamie Lanza and Ty Davis (Vet class) on Husky’s. Support rider Gary Sutherlin rode a KTM, he is just coming off his first WORCS win on his Kawasaki. The signs seem to be pointing to Ty Davis running a new Husky team when the KTM owned brand makes its rebirth debut next month.
