I got a little careless this weekend and tagged a sharp bush in Baja while testing the new KTM 450xcf. The sharp point drove in pretty deep and required a visit to the hospital in Ensenada. Even with professional care it took a fair bit of cutting, digging and cursing to get the offending thorn out. They had to call the head doctor over to give it a go. He was a little more aggressive than the female doc. When it was all done I had 5 stitches in the back of my hand. But it all came out and should be good. The total bill for Velmar Emergency room in Ensenada was $160. Filling the prescription of antibiotics and pain killer was another $25.
There has not been much pain since then. I actually rode again the next day with no real issue. Hopefully it all heals up quick.
The new 2014 KTM handguards do not provide much coverage, time to get something a little bigger on.
