The wine must be flowing freely in France tonight. A French rider winning a Dakar stage on a French motorcycle, has such a thing ever happened before? The Sherco team backs up one stage win with a second and Duclos steps into third overall. I must be in fairy land. Who would have dreamed of such a headline? I am telling you, if you don’t know already, this is a company that is going places!
Chaleco Lopez crashed out of the rally today. He is doing fine, but ended his Dakar with a helicopter ride back to the bivouac.
Gas Gas rider Gerard Farres went out yesterday with another motorcycle fire, brush catching fire
Of the 174 riders to start the event , only 92 were on the line this morning.
Barreda was on track again today putting up a good finish
Coma gains more advantage and will look to play it safe from here on out
Don’t expect to see much more “racing” for the overall win. Coma will shadow Barreda from here on and just try to keep safe
Barreda will have to go all out each day looking for stage wins and having to open the course after such, hard task ahead
Despres has conceded any shot at the win, will be interesting to see if he looks for any stage wins or just cruises
Tomorrow brings a much needed rest day for the racers
