Here are a few comments from some of our friends who came to ride Baja with us.
This is my personal testimony one of the best baja trips one will ever have. Chilly is a master when it comes to navigating baja. From the beach to the mountains the ride was spectacular. Chilly knows all the best places in all the towns. where to get the best margarita’s and the most ono grinds chilly is the man when it comes to experiencing real baja. You don’t have to think about anything but riding. Don’t miss out. – Sam Bird
I was fortunate enough to be able to experience a 6 day trip with Chilly earlier this year! Our trip was nothing short of epic. This man knows Baja. The first day we rode in through Tecate, and straight into the mountains with the anticipation of making it to Ensenada by the end of the day, which we did right at dusk on the beach. Unreal… That day and the days to follow, we got to ride some of the best single track, two track, beach rides, gnarly hill climbs, technical off camber, rock sections, dunes, sandy river bottoms, shale, secret trails, river crossings, old and new race coarse, and every other rugged thing that Baja is made of. If you were to dream up a perfect 6 day ride, this was it. By the first 150 miles, we were convinced we were truly in for a ride of a lifetime.
We put complete trust in Chilly’s expert navigation, because we had no idea of where we were going, where to get gas, eat, or sleep. Every time we would switch the petcock to reserve, he would say ” ok let’s head down this road for a few miles there should be gas down there”
Sure enough every time we would either make it on fumes to a gas station or a rancho, where someone would bring out gas in an old plastic milk jug with a smile. Usually accompanied by a coke or a bottle of cold water.
We rode everyday from breakfast to almost dark. He would ask us if we wanted to go the short way or the long way to the hotel at the end of the day. We always opted for the longest route. We knew that we may never get a chance to ride Baja again with such an expert guide that knew Baja trails inside and out.
Chilly also speaks fluent Spanish, which made the trip easy and worry free. All we had to do was ride. This man can lay down tracks too. He rides smooth and effortlessly but very patient. I was usually a few minutes behind at the end of a really long trail but usually in sight on the shorter ones.
His concern was only that we ride safe and to have a good time, which was impossible not to do.
It rained 3 of the 6 days we were there, which made some of the best, dust free riding with unbelievably awesome traction. We rode from Ensenada to San Quintin to Mikes to el rasario to some place in the middle, back to Ensenada and then some.
Our last day it rained and hailed so hard, it washed away the trail and we had to navigate by sight and instinct. We rode across the last river crossing where Chilly crossed in about 6 inches of water, but another rider crossed in about 4 feet where he drowned out his bike. Chilly immediately went into fix it mode. He flipped the bike over, purged the water out of the motor and carb, and just a few min we were on our way.
We had a bunch of tacos right at the border, at one of his favorite Mexican taco stands, before we crossed back into the US. The best tacos I ever had. I think we all ate about 8 each. This trip was absolutely epic! I left out a lot, but I would highly recommend riding Baja with Chilly White to anyone who has always wanted to ride Mexico but ddidn’tknow how to do it safely. He will make the trip exciting and worry free. All you do is show and ride. He will take care of the rest. This ride needs to be on every serious riders bucket list. If you love riding motorcycles, you will absolutely love this adventure ride. Amazing is the only word I can find that comes close to describing the week we had south of the border. Mark Jeffries
I had the pleasure of riding with Chilly on a six day ride to Catavina and back to Tecate. The previous reviews say it all. Pure epic baja adventure at its best. And Yes Chilly knows the great places to eat. The seafood cocktail in Ensenada is worth the trip. Todd York
