Time is getting closer for our Idaho ride in Sandpoint. Some of the local riders have been out scouting and clearing the trails. It is a huge job each season to clear out all the deadfalls. They tell me the snow is melting out well and we should have access to some really good stuff. So expect plenty of good riding. Gordon White, Per Mattson, Verlin Van Zee and some other locals are helping us get ready. Here are a few of their work day photos. Check out the wolf tracks!
If you have not filled out the online sign up form yet, please do so. We have a little space still open for those who are still thinking of coming. The bed space is about sold out, but we have lots of floor and camping space.
If you would like to come, send me an email and I will forward the link to you: Chilly@Enduro360.com
June 26-30 2014
I am happy to announce our newest ride event, the Idaho Rendezvous. Come join us in Sandpoint Idaho for a couple of days of riding, BBQ, bench racing and libations.
This will be a completely different kind of event for us. This is much more of a fun get together at our place in North Idaho. We will provide the base camp, food and accommodations. There are some fantastic ride opportunities nearby.
The riding will all be self guided, this is not like our normal Baja tours. Depending on the group size, we may all choose to ride together, or split up to keep the group sizes reasonable. Choices of destinations will be discussed once we get together.
We will be staging from our vacation rental house outside of Sandpoint. The house is located on 7 acres with no nearby neighbors and borders forest land. It is a 20 minute drive from downtown Sandpoint. Everything will be arranged to handle about 20 riders. You can have your choice of camping, a bed in the house, or a private bedroom with queen size bed. We will also be using the closest neighboring house, my dad Gordon’s log house, for extra space.
The event is open to all levels of riders and bikes. The area is a mecca for dual sport and adventure riding. So bring your big bikes if you wish. Remember it is all self guided. We will provide some route suggestions, but feel free to research your own or even to take on the role as ride leader for a day.
Wives are welcome too (assuming they can put up with the rest of us). Couples can room at the second house for a little more space and privacy. Everything is close enough to Sandpoint to enjoy the day in town. We have private community beach access to lake Pend Oreille just minutes away. There is also unlimited mtn biking and hiking.
Absolutely all bikes must be forest friendly. No loud bikes, spark arrestors required. There will be a mandatory tech inspection and I will not hesitate to turn away any bike that does not comply.
Everyone will have full access to the houses; bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, tv, hot tub, shop, whatever. We will cook breakfast each day and BBQ for dinner. You are on your own for lunches. Meals will be awesome. We will have a keg of local micro brew also.
We will be prepared for arrivals Thursday evening, with departures as late as Monday. You are welcome to come and go as suits your schedule. Meals are Friday through Sunday.
