Red Bull KTM Factory rider Taddy Blazusiak took the win at the Atlanta EnduroCross, the third round of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series.
The reigning champion turned the fastest time in the afternoon hot laps to take first gate pick in his heat race. He was placed in the first heat alongside his teammate, Factory FMF/KTM rider Taylor Robert.
Both riders started out strong in their heat and hopped into the front two positions early on. They held their ground and finished the race in the top two spots with Blazusiak edging out Robert for the win. Both riders transferred directly to the main event.
In the main event, it was Blazusiak who leaped off the line to a great start and rounded the first corner with the holeshot. Robert was slightly farther back in approximately 8th position after getting pushed out at the start. Robert quickly made his way into 3rd place and held that for the majority of the race before a mistake cost him a position around the halfway mark. He went on to finish the race in 4th place to take his best result this season.
Meanwhile, Blazusiak was battling with Cody Webb out front for the lead position. The two riders stayed close together for the first ten laps before all riders started to tire from the longer race and began to make mistakes. It became a game of who could ride smart and make the least mistakes. At the end of the race, Blazusiak proved he had that skill set as he caught and passed Webb and took a much deserved win.
