I have just returned from an amazing trip to mainland Mexico. Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco to be exact. I received an invitation from Pepe Diaz to take part in the big annual event known as Ruta Vallarata, a two day ride through the mountains to Vallarta. The “Vallartazo” as it is generally know is one of the more popular traditional routes in Mexico. It is not one specific ride or route, but something that riders tackle year round. Ruta Vallarta, the most famous of these rides, is organized by Moto Club TT and attracts over 500 participants.
When I got the invitation to this event, I figured it was too good to pass up. So off I went, flying out of Tijuana to GDL. I have far too many photos to share, so I figured I would break them up in multiple galleries. This one, is of my arrival and day in Guadalajara. The city was more beautiful than I imagined. I stayed at a small boutique hotel in the area known as Tlaquepaque.
Next up will be two days of riding, rain, mountains and fantastic scenery. There were a few girls along also, so they will get a gallery of their own. All of these photos were shot with my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. It has replaced my cameras for nearly everything I do now.
