Before I jump into anything else, I want to give a big thanks to everyone I meet out there on the trail who tells me about their appreciation of what we do here. That is certainly the most rewarding part of what I do. Yes, I get to ride lots and that never tires either.
It is amazing how complicated and challenging the business of what I do actually is. I simply wanted to ride bikes, that was a pretty naive idea. But I am just stubborn enough to think that roadblocks are just jumps in disguise.
The Baja trail season is near an end. It is the conduit for much of the testing we get to do. It is what allows me to rack up lots of miles of abuse on bikes and parts. But it also puts me a bit behind on the writing. So suffice it to say that I have lots of new testing news to write about and I will soon get it out.
Upcoming Test News
Husqvarna TE250 – It has been some time since I really got an extended test on a two stroke. It has been so nice to revisit the premix and the Husky has a lot going for it. It has performed admirably and I will have lots of positive feedback to share.
Gas Gas XC300e – Our last visit on the Gas Gas was in Tennessee last year. It has been really good to run it through the paces on my home turf. I have been able to challenge the suspension and handling a bit more. Suffice it to say that this is probably the best of the Spanish bikes to date.
KTM 390 Duke – Just a quick ride report coming, the Duke is a fun little bike and an impressive package for the price. As the first of the Indian made bikes to make it to our shores, it is worth a look even for dirt bikers. Expect more where that came from.
First rides on the 2016 KTM’s will be up in a couple of weeks too. I am sure there will be lots to talk about. Hopefully Beta X Trainer is on the horizon also.
On The Baja Schedule
I also want to give a shout out to all of you who came to ride with us this season. I have been glad to have you along. I think it is safe to say that we have the most unique Baja ride program out there.
As I said, things will quiet down a bit. I hope to do an adventure bike ride to southern Baja in June to go visit some new destinations. We will be adding at least one Baja peninsula trip to the 2015/2016 tour calendar. There have been lots of requests for it. I want to try and find some unique out of the way routes for us to explore.
July 24-16 is the Baja Beach Bash. If you want to get in on this crazy fun ride, visit the website because it will fill up soon. http://www.bajabeachbash.com/
I hope to get a couple of other summer Baja trips in, they are on the schedule at http://www.enduro360bajarides.com/.
