Motorcycle Mutt – John and Kookie

If you have seen the movie, you remember John and his racing dog Kookie.
Here is the story told in a children’s book. I saw this obscure listing on Ebay and just guessed at what it might be. Sure enough the Husky riding desert duo were the subjects. I was unaware of this book, but others have commented that they knew it from elementary school where is was a common library selection. And sure enough that is where the book I have lived at one time, St Joseph’s Elementary. Lots of great vintage District 37 desert photos here.
